Fortnight for Freedom – EWTN Family Prayers

Today we pray for the Overturning of the HHS Mandate

Thursday June 21 - St. Aloysius Gonzaga

Almighty God we humbly bow before You, Who are all powerful. We turn to You in this hour of great need, full of faith and with great confidence in You Who can do all things. Through the intercession of St. Aloysius of Gonzaga, who lived the virtue of purity in a remarkable way, we ask you to overturn the HHS Mandate which is now law and which forces all Catholic Institutions to pay for contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs. Deliver us, O Lord, from all evil. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for Those Holding Public Office

Friday June 22 - St. Thomas More & St. John Fisher

Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You Who reign over all, for all authority on earth is subject to You! Through the intercession of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher, martyrs who did not compromise on their Catholic faith, grant the grace of conversion to those who profess the Catholic faith and yet promote that which is contrary to It through their support of legislation for abortion, same-sex marriage and the loss of Religious Liberty. Help our legislators, O Lord, to grow in humility. Lord Jesus, come reign over us! Amen.

Today we pray for Catholic Foster Care and Adoption Services

Saturday June 23 - BVM on Saturday

Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You Who reign over all, for all authority on earth is subject to You! Through the intercession of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher, martyrs who did not compromise on their Catholic faith, grant the grace of conversion to those who profess the Catholic faith and yet promote that which is contrary to It through their support of legislation for abortion, same-sex marriage and the loss of Religious Liberty. Help our legislators, O Lord, to grow in humility. Lord Jesus, come reign over us! Amen.

Today we pray for Courage to Defend Religious Liberty

Sunday June 24 - St. John the Baptist

Heavenly Father, we worship You Who are worthy of all of our praise and fidelity! Through the intercession of St. John the Baptist, who was martyred for speaking the truth, give to all Christians the Gift of Fortitude so that we may, likewise, courageously bear witness to the truth, even unto death, if necessary. Deliver our Nation, O Lord, from apathy and mediocrity and give to all people a holy zeal for all that is good, holy, pure and true. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for Freedom of Conscience

Monday June 25

Heavenly Father, we love You in whose image and likeness we are all wonderfully made! You have given us all a conscience by which You guide us to live in truth and love. Father, do not let our laws deprive us of our rightful freedom of conscience! Protect us from those who would seek to force us to do things that are immoral and contrary to Your holy will. Let Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven! Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for the Protection of Family Life

Tuesday June 26 - St. Josemaria Escriva

Lord Jesus Christ, we adore You Who left us a model of family life in Your home in Nazareth with Joseph and Mary. Through the intercession of St. Josemaria Escriva', who inspired lay men and women to live holy lives, grant Divine assistance to the families of our Country. Inspire our legislators to actions that will strengthen family life, and protect us from those who seek to redefine the family. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us! Defend and protect family life in our Nation! Amen.

Today we pray for the Protection of the Institution of Marriage

Wednesday June 27

Heavenly Father, we worship You, our Creator, for You have made all things and Your ways are perfect and true! You have given men and women a complementarity in body and soul in order that they may truly be one in the Sacrament of Matrimony. Shield us from the influences in our culture that lead so many to adultery and divorce. Protect our Nation, we pray, from those who seek to redefine marriage and who would force all to accept and to embrace immorality. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for All Christians

Thursday June 28 - St. Irenaeus

Almighty God, we adore You! We pray for all of those who believe in You and in Your Son, Jesus Christ, and who share a common Baptism. Through the intercession of St. Irenaeus, an early Christian martyr and Father of the Church, unite us, O Lord, in our defense of human life; of Christian marriage; of religious liberty; and freedom of conscience. Enflame us, and our entire Nation, with a new outpouring of Your Spirit, and renew in us the Christian faith of our forefathers. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for the Preservation of our Judeo-Christian Heritage

Friday June 29 - Sts. Peter and Paul

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we worship You! Our forefathers came to this land seeking religious liberty and desired to build one Nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. We rejoice in our faith in Christ which we have inherited from Sts. Peter and Paul and we ask you to grant that we may never be deprived of this priceless treasure nor hindered in the practice of our Christian Faith. Let this land be Your land, O God! Preserve our Judeo-Christian heritage always! Amen.

Today we pray for the Protection of the Unborn

Saturday June 30 - First Martyrs of Rome

Heavenly Father, we love You Who are the Father of all! The First Martyrs of Rome lived differently than their Roman neighbors since they welcomed and cherished human life and would not commit abortion or infanticide. Through the intercession of the First Martyrs of Rome, we ask You to raise up the Culture of Life in the hearts of all men and women in our Nation. Protect us from those who would impose abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and all acts contrary to human dignity upon us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today we pray for The Preservation of Freedom

Sunday July 1

Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You our Savior, for You came in order to set captives free! Preserve our Country in freedom, which is in accord with our human dignity. Grant, we pray, that our citizens may be a moral people who use their freedom to do good and not as a license to commit sin. Protect us from present legislation that would rob us of our cherished freedom. Grant, O Lord, that we may always enjoy the freedom of the children of God in this Land. Amen.

Today we pray for the Preservation of Religious Liberty

Monday July 2

Heavenly Father, we adore You and thank You! You have inspired and enabled us as religious believers to make our contribution to the good of society, and thus, have blessed this Nation through believers in a multitude of ways. Defend us from those who would restrict the good works that have always been freely done for the good of all. Let education, feeding the hungry, health care and social services continue unrestricted, O Lord, by preserving Religious Liberty in our Land. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday July 4 - Independence Day

O Holy Spirit, Lord of Light, we invite You, come! Lead our Nation into all truth, reminding us of all that Jesus said and did. Inspire the citizens of this great Land to elect leaders who will govern us in holiness and truth. On this Independence Day, as we recall and thank You for our freedom, we implore You to preserve our religious liberty by instilling into the hearts of all a fiery love of God. Come, Holy Spirit! Renew us in Your Love! Amen.

Prayers

O GOD OUR CREATOR, from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society.

We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty.

Give us the strength of mind and heart
to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith.

Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father,
a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church
in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome— for the sake of our children, our grandchildren,
and all who come after us—
this great land will always be "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
